Patricia Velásquez
The creative process extends beyond the
canvas, photographs or film, as well as the media. It is also a catalyst for
philanthropy, charity, and charity as well as activism. Patricia Velasquez, an
award-winning actress, history-making model, staunch philanthropist and
conscientious activist, and an adoring mother, brings an ever-increasing
creative flair to all she does whether it's in blockbusters such as The Curse
of La Llorona or launching the Wayuu Taya Foundation, and taking part as a
member of the UNESCO Board. She is a strong believer in intuition , and a
pioneer in her own direction. "I think of my career as a lengthy
staircase," she says. "I made every step up. It was incredible to
achieve this, as there was perseverance. I just lay my head down, taking one
step at a time, and did not stop." This metaphor is reminiscent of an
experience that was a formative one. After a couple of years she relocated to
Venezuela. She was born in Venezuela and grew up in France and Mexico. In South
America, her parents worked in education , and then relocated their family to a
cramped apartment without water or elevators that worked. Patricia carried 15
levels of stairs with heavy buckets in order to supply water to the unit.
Between her engineering studies and intense dance lessons she aimed to aid the
family however possible. The promise she made to her family was the main reason
she made it to the top of the fashion world, saw her being scouted for modeling
in Milan. She recalled, "When they asked me whether I would like to travel
to Italy and I said, 'If you can send thirty dollars a month back home to
Venezuela, it will be worth itas it will cover the whole cost of the water used
in the building's." Patricia's accomplishment was a significant moment in fashion
since she was able to draw attention to South America for first time. She
received a major break after becoming "the first model Karl Lagerfeld ever
photographed" and then going on to walk in shows, be a part of editorial
spreads, and front ads for Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, Chloe, Cover
Girl, and Victoria's Secret just to mention just a few. Her appearances on
Oprah's Supermodel of the World contest and Ford Models’ "Supermodel of
the World" contest was a huge hit across the globe. She was also featured
on the front covers of Marie Claire, Bazaar and Vogue.
