Paula Faris
Paula Faris is an American journalist
who worked previously as the TV correspondent for ABC News. Her most well-known
work is her role as co-host of Good Morning America Weekend, 2014-2018, as well
as host of The View, 2015-2018. The show was co-hosted by her prior co-anchors
America This Morning and World News Now. After graduating, she worked in
several communications-related jobs including an operations position at
Mills/James Productions in Columbus, Ohio. Due to the limited opportunities on
TV she was employed in radio sales. She eventually found work for a year as a
production assistant for WKEF/WRGT. Later, she would occasionally anchor and
report. Between 2002 and 2005, she was the sports anchor for weekends as well
as the sports anchor for weekdays at WCPO-TV in Cincinnati. After her contract
expired she took on the role of sports reporter and anchor at the NBC affiliate
WMAQ-TV in Chicago between November 2005 and December 2011. She was recruited
by ABC News' news division in the month of December. She first made an
appearance on the ABC News network on World News Now and America This Morning
on January 2 in 2012. She was also on Good Morning America's fill-in programme,
Good Morning America, on January 2, 2012. Then, she was made a New York-based correspondent
for all ABC News programs. However, she was not able to get to the last episode
of World News Now or America This Morning. It was on January 22nd, 2013. On
September 9, 2014, she was announced as the co-anchor of Good Morning America
Weekend, after the departure of Bianna Golodryga. She moved to Yahoo! News. ABC
announced that she would join The View as a cohost for season 19. On August 3
on the 3rd of August, 2016 it was announced they have renewed her contract for
the twentieth season. Season 21 also saw her renewed as co-host. She was most
well-known in the 22nd and 21st seasons of the show.
